Predicted Ocean

-Predicting the future of the North Sea-

’’They cover 70 percent of our planet and we rely on them for food, energy and water’’, UN objectives state.

’’Predicted Ocean brings together researchers from ocean circulation, climate and carbon cycle modeling with modern methods in numerical mathematics and optimization theory to elucidate the prospective changes in regional ocean dynamics and biogeochemistry over the next 50 to 100 years.’’ (https://www.futureocean.org)

We tried to present these prospective stories, scenarios of the future. In order to gain deep understanding of the issues, we need to dive into the everyday behaviours causing all the problems. The future can’t be predicted, but models can be built to simulate the future circumstances with the data available. The results can be used to consider different guidelines for tomorrow.

How do we agree on the guidelines to pre- serve the world oceans in the future?
